For a great way to learn about tutoring adult learners, look into the free online resources on EdNet's site. You can create a user account for free and view sample lesson plans, take trainings, learn about conferences, etc. www.proliteracyednet.org

  • 211 Maine. This is a comprehensive, statewide directory of health and human services. You may also call 2-1-1, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, for information. http://www.211maine.org

  • Literacy Information and Communication System. This website offers a variety of publications, some of which are free if you download the PDF. http://lincs.ed.gov

  • New England Literacy Resource Center. Located in Boston, it offers a variety of helpful resources and is part of World Education. http://www.nelrc.org
